Obituary of Alonzo Jason Johnson

Alonzo Jason Johnson, 91, of the Johnson Branch Community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 23, 2011 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Rufus and Cora Shuler Johnson. He was a retired employee with the Civil Services as an Electrician and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hyde Johnson; and one brother, Bill Johnson. He is survived by two sisters, Margaret Oliver of Phoenix, AR, Nettie Gatti of Hartford, Conn.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. John Stephens will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westcare Hospice, 68 Hospital Road, Sylva, NC 28779
