Obituary of Dorothy Thomas Brown
Dorothy Thomas Brown, 82, of Bryson City was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at her home with her family by her side.
A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Ray H. and Ollie M. Thomas and wife of the late Glenn Dwayne Brown.
Dorothy Mae was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a Godly woman who served quietly from home. She loved gardening and feeding and watching the birds and humming birds especially. She loved to plant dahlias every year and watch them bloom throughout the summer.
Dorothy Mae was preceded in death by her two sisters, Mary Alice Thomas and Clara Lee Watson as well as a son-in-law, Roy Allen Workman.
She is survived by a son, Ronald Brown of the home; a daughter, Denise Workman of Advance, NC and a grandson, Jason Workman of Charlotte, NC.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Saturday April 27, 2013 in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Paul Sale will officiate with burial in the Estes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Med West Harris Hospice, 68 Hospital Road, Sylva, NC 28779.
