Bryson City Dateline:
Mary Edna Flowers Skinner, 80, formerly of Palmdale, FLA, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday June 26th, 2010 in a Jackson County Hospital. A native of Florida, she has been a resident of Swain and Jackson Counties since 1986. She was preceded in death by her son Robert Brooks.
She is survived by two daughters; Sharon Curry and husband Roy of LaBelle, FLA, and Deborah Martin of Lake Junaluska, NC, one son; Ronnie Brooks and wife Barbara of Red Level, ALA, one sister; Gwendolyn Brown of Gonzalez, LA, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Monday at Bryson City Church of God of which she was a member. Rev. Marty Presley will officiate with burial in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesville.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 PM Monday at the Church.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
