Cherokee Dateline: Calvin T. James, Sr. (Butch), 68 of the Yellowhill Community, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 10, 2011 in a Buncombe County Hospital. A lifelong resident of Cherokee, he was the son of the late Stanley James and Myrtle Ratliff Johnson and Lloyd Johnson. He also was preceded in death by two children, Carolyn Ann Wilnoty and Dennis James Wilnoty, one grandson, Michael Dennis Wilnoty and his wife Harriett Sequoyah James. He is survived by 6 children, Kina Swayney and husband Doug, David Wilnoty and wife Michelle, Michael Douglas Wilnoty and wife Savannah, Timothy Michael Wilnoty and wife Natasha Dee, Mary James and James Tooni, and Calvin T. James, Jr. (Bug) all of Cherokee, 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, Special Friend and companion, Mary Gean Littledave, and one brother Daniel William Johnson of Cherokee. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Yellowhill Baptist Church of which he was a member. Revs. Forman Bradley and Roland Whitaker will officiate with burial in the Church Cemetery. The body will be taken to the Church at 4:00 PM Friday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of service. An online register is available at www.crispfuneralhome.org
