To all of Varnel's family I am truly sorry for your loss. I just heard of his passing this past weekend after talking to Lou Breedlove (Florence's daughter in law). We all had great memories of visiting with him. Varnel will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him. I am Bonnie's grand-daughter Melissa.

I to am the grandson of Naomi and have visited Varnel there on Wesser Creek. He was a good man. I am sorry for your loss. I to remember old Ben and Maw and Dad and spent several nights with them there in that old school house sitting around the stove at night with Maw in her little rocker. Naomia ended up with that little rocker and when she died I got it from the family. My mother, Helen was born in that old school house. May the Lord give you peace at this time.

As the Grandson of Naomi Grant Barnett my condolences go out to Varnel's family. It has been years since I saw Varnel, but remember he was respected as a fine man, and vetran. I spent many fine summer days at "Maw's" house on Wesser Creek, Fed old Ben and rode the sled with "Dad" and caught trout in the creek. Those were fond memories.

Shawn and Vicki,
I will miss seeing Uncle Varnel out puttering around in the yard at Dad's old place. I regret that the last time I was in Wesser I didn't stop by. Your Dad was always so generous and hospitable. He could cook a mean steak! Memories of him will always bring a smile to my face. I trust that he's home now with our other loved ones that have moved on to an even higher range than the Blue Ridge.
Blessings to you all,
Pless

Vicki and family, please know I am thinking of you in your time of loss. I am a cousin you probably don't remember but my Mama Ruby Lindsay Wright talked of your father often. I saw him just a short time ago sitting on the porch.
