Dillard Millsaps, 66, of the Laurel Branch Community went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in a Swain County Hospital. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late James Junior and Aglestia Green Millsaps. He was preceded in death by one son, Roby Douglas Millsaps; and grandson, Dillard Keith Young.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lexie Hyde Millsaps; one son, Dennis Jerome Millsaps; one daughter, Patsy Davis and husband Robert; one granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Young; four brothers, Robert, Ralph, Joe, Buddy Millsaps; five sisters, Beatrice Hyde, Evelyn and Wanda Millsaps, Palentine Hyatt, Imagene Greene; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. David Burch and Dale Green will officiate with burial in the Laurel Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Roger and Randy Millsaps, James and David Kirkland, Doug Hyde, Scott Green, Silas Hampton, Jr, and Levi Collins.
