Obituary of Sally M. Jenkins

Sally M. Jenkins, 69, of Dunbar Street went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, October 14th, 2010 in Tsali Care Center. A native of Charleston, West Virginia she had been a resident of Swain County for the past 46 years. She was a graduate of Piedmont Baptist College in Winston-Salem and had graduate degrees from Western Carolina University. She was a retired School Teacher with 38 years of service having taught in Swain County and Cherokee Schools. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Hedrick Stambaugh and sister, Peggy. She is survived by her husband of 46 years R.P. Jenkins, one son Jon-Mark Jenkins and wife Christan of Bryson City, three grandsons, Casey, Colton, and Preston Jenkins, and one sister Natalie Ann Barton of Charleston, West Virginia. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at the Bryson City First Baptist Church of which she was a member. Dr. John Tagliarini will officiate with burial in Jenkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the Church. Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
