Larry and I thank our good Lord that He allowed us the opportunity to know all of your wonderful family. We loved Mitchell and we know that he is safe with our Lord and that we will all be together again. He was my lap counter the first time that he and I both was on 3rd floor of CJ Harris. The nurses made me walk around the two halls and as I passed Mitchell's door I would stop, sit, talked and he counted my laps. We have laughed about that many times since. We will continue to pray for all of you and if any of you ever need anything, please let us know.
Much love, Larry & Jo Anne Foster

"Without the tear the rainbow in the heart cannot form." Native American Proverb
My memories and thoughts of Mitchell are abundant as I recall all the joyous times since childhood we enjoyed together. Deep Creek as children was a magical place.... sled riding on grandmaw gurtie in winter, and in the spring and summer riding horses, camping, and swimming at big rock. There was a small army of children that grew up together exploring, playing, working, at each others homes in this small little area of this great big world. Teenagers we were and often during the gas wars rode around in a little volkeswagon probably to the terror of the neighborhood. Football was a way of life for us and Mitchell will be remembered as one of the greatest.. well deserving hall of fame status. He was always there for me in good times and in the most difficult, always a friend that at the end of a conversation left you with a warm feeling in your heart. He lifted ones spirits!!! I was unable to attend Mitchell's service due to illness but wanted the family to know how very much I will remember him and know that his love of family, his friends and his church family will be reflected daily through the never ending faith he displayed and instilled in us all.
Love you all, "Tosh"

Pat, Mary, Bill and family, may God be with you all in the hard days ahead. Michell's dedication to Lord did not go unnoticed, even to thoes of us that did not meet him on a daily basis. His genuine desire to be a man of God was evident every time you saw him. There are so few men willing to stand and be counted. He will be missed in the community.
Your families will be in our thoughts and prayers. Edgar and Ann Styles

Pat, Aaron & family, all others in family, We so much appreciated our acquaintance with Mitchell, his message and faith in his work for the Lord was so wonderful, he could not have been such a wonderful person without all of you to help and support him in his work which I am sure he very much appreciated. He would expect that we continue that until our time comes to go to join him and the Lord - I feel sure his first stop wanted to be to meet the one who saved him and us - that should be our goal and what he would have wanted our goal to be. Ronnie wanted me to add a little incident among many---one day Mitchell was sitting in front of old Macon Furn Mart in the RC truck and Ronnie was concerned since he was slumped over the wheel of his truck - out of concern Ronnie knocked on the window and Mitchell responded "that he was just talking with the Lord". We so much enjoyed having your family at the campground from time to time. Our prayers are with you and all your family and the Lord will give us mercy and grace to accept his leaving us for a little while - we will all meet again. Ever need us call us. Ronnie and Ella and family.

Pat, Aaron and all others in family, We just wanted to praise the Lord for letting us know all of you and express our hope that the mercy and grace of our Lord will sustain all of you during this time of Mitchell's leaving. I'm sure his first stop was to meet his Lord and Saviour in whom was his trust and he represented during his time on this earth so well. We so much enjoyed your visits to the campground and there are so many happy memories of your family. I'm sure the Lord said to Mitch "well done my child - welcome home" and he is safe in the arms of Jesus. His testimony will live on in others he inspired and helped along the way. Ronnie wanted me to share just one of his many memories of Mitch with you - this was years ago and Ronnie has never forgotten - he said Mitch was parked at the old Macon Furn Mart in his RC truck, Ronnie noticed he was slumped over the wheel and out of concern he walked over to the truck and knocked on the window - Mitch responded to Ronnie's concern for him that he was "just talking with the Lord" - we have many wonderful memories and he truly was an inspirational person to all. Love and prayers to you all and if ever you should need us please call us. Ronnie, Ella and family.

Dear Family,
I know you will miss Mitchell most of all. But Mitchell was a large part of our family at Swain High as well and will be missed by all of us. Mitchell was a very important member of the 'Foxhole Forty' and a co-captain on our first state championship team in 1979. I loved watching him play during that magical season. It was a proud day for all of us when he was inducted into our Hall of Fame just two years ago. We will miss Mitchell as part of the chain gang on Friday nights. But what I saw in Mitchell the last several years was a faith in our Lord as strong as I have ever seen in any person.
He never complained about his condition and always had a smile and a kind, uplifting word to go along with that still strong hand-shake and bear-hug. Mitchell left an example for us all to live up to. May God be with you during this time of loss as we all miss him. Gary Ayers

Most precious Pat, Aaron, and Sarah. I pray that God strengthens and sustains you during this time of separation from Mitchell. We will all see him again soon in heaven. His life was truly an inspiration to me as well as countless others. The scriptures always tell us to let our light shine. Mitchell's light shined brighter than most people that I have ever met. Heaven itself is even brighter as Mitchell hears: Well done my good and faithful servant. Love you all

You are in my thoughts and prayer during this time. I knew how much Mitchell Loved GOD; you could hear it in his voice when he preached and see it in his eyes. He was a great preacher what few times I got to hear him at Galibreath Cr. Baptist Church. Now he doesn't have to preach he is praising the one who loved him enough to die for him. He is happy and rejoicing. One day you will get to see him agian. Just hold on to Jesus to get you through this difficult time.

Pat,
I only met Mitchell one time, and I still remember it. It was back in the late 80's or early 90's
and I was "Hicth hiking" in front of super saver which was Ingles at that time, and Mitchell and you came along and picked me up on your way to somewhere, and took me ALL the way to the head of Cullisia. You both gave up something that you were doing to help me out. I
have never forgot that. I got to know you at "Gichner" and enjoyed working with you. You all
are special people to me. We all know that mitchell is in a better place, and is in no pain. All
is peace and joy for him. May God comfort you and all of your family is my Prayer. GOD
WILL SEE YOU THROUGH.

Pat, it seems like yesterday that you and Mitchel said "I do." To think that you married before graduating high school and were married all these years is truly a God's blessing. I can only imagine how your heart is hurting and the days ahead will be overwhelming to continue without the man you loved so very much. I know your strong faith and devotion to the Lord will carry you through the days that follow, not to mention your family and friends. I will pray for you and your family.
