Obituary of Joe House

Malcolm Joseph "Joe" House, 75, of Bryson City, formally of Jacksonville, FL was called home Thursday December 17th, 2009. A native of Olean, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Grace Pitzerick House. He was a retired Chief Warrant Officer with the U.S. Navy having served for 22 years. He was awarded several medals for his accomplishments by the U.S. Navy. He was affiliated with the Episcopal Church. He enjoyed woodworking, His Pets, and very loyal and giving to his family and others. He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter Debra Ann Clifford. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Evelyne J. House; 2 daughters, Karen Marie Orr (Greg) of Escondido, CA; Vicki Akins of Paradise, CA; one twin sister, Marilyn Joanne Busch of Lockport, NY and 6 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. James Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Swain Memorial Park with military graveside rites being conducted by the Steve youngdeer American Legion Post 143, Cherokee, NC. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
