Obituary of Delbert G. Simonds

Delbert G. Simonds, 57, of the Shepherds Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Jean Kirkland Simonds. He was employed with Con-Met in Bryson City for the past 15 years. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Joyce Waldroop Simonds; one daughter, Amy Simonds of Bryson City; three brothers, Harold Simonds of Maine, Bruce Simonds of Hendersonville, Brian Simonds of Bryson City; three sisters, Lois Walker of Bryson City, Elizabeth Hull of Bryson City, Virginia Meadows of Marshall, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Ray Fox will officiate with burial in Holly Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
