Annie N. Higdon, 85, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 21, 2010 in a Jackson County Hospital.
A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Sarah Herron Nations and wife of the late Marshall Higdon. She also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristy D. Higdon; four brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Ann Burnett and husband Lester of Bryson City; one son, Steve W. Higdon and wife Donna of Bryson City; three grandchildren, Jenny, Dinah, and Shanna; and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Lowell York and Eugene Moore will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
