We enjoyed spending time with him at the reunion and will surely miss his being at the those, but I believe he is at a far better reunion than any we can experience in this life. May God give you comfort during this time and we pray the heartache of his leaving is soon replaced with the joyful memories. He was always so very pleasant and such a nice person to be around.
May God Bless and Keep You Strong,
Tommy & Shirley Davis and Family

William Dewey Clark was a man with many names: Husband, Brother, Uncle, Father, Father in law, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Friend and "Old Goat".
For those of you who don't know the "Old Goat" was a nickname he received the year he was Vice President of a Masonic Order called Order of the Amaranth. When I ask him to be my counterpart he told me he was just an old goat from the Smokey Mountains and I told him he would make a fine OLD GOAT. The name seems to have taken on a life of its own and many people through the years have kept in touch with and ask about the Old Goat.
Thank you dad for all the great places we have seen and places we have lived in over the last 60 years. We have been to many states and seen sights that most people will never see in their life time. I am thankful for this education that you gave me and for the many friendships I have made throughout the world. Thanks to you I have marked off one of the things from my Bucket List, I have now lived in or visited all 50 states.
Thank you dad for the love and the laughs and the support you have given me these last 60 years.
You are now in a home on high that will have no pain, sickness or tiredness. In our Ritual of the Order of the Amaranth in our initiation we state that: "There is no Death: what seems so is a transition, a new state of existence, more glorious and lasting than our lives here."
I will miss you dad but know that you will always be remembered and loved by not only myself but by many friends and family members.

Having the chance to be around Uncle Bill lots more, in the last ten years, at our Clark Family Reunions, I came to realize what a very lovable, funny, nice and person he was. I know he loved and cherished all his family. This past reunion was one of the most memorable of all because I/we all got to talk, laugh, joke and just have fun with him..
I will miss the celebration of his life but he will be in my heart.. Now the Lord gets to enjoy having him around and he might even put him in charged of the horses..
Love to all,
Jean & Buddy Gunter
also Shelia, Butch, Kellie, Scott and Alex

I am happy to say I enjoyed knowing Bill when I was a child and then when he moved back to Swain County we reunited as friends. May the family find peace and comfort in remembering the joy they had with him. I will be thinking of your family in your time of loss.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in the passing of Uncle Bill. His suffering and pain is past and I'm thankful for that.
But he will be missed, I know. I'm so glad I got to visit with him at the reunion this year. I have special memories of him as I was growing up in Bryson City.
And I beleive we share the hope of meeting again in heaven, as promised by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We plan to come over for the funeral on Monday.
God bless,
Gail & Al Lemmert and family
