Obituary of Dixie Lee Hook Hedges

Dixie Lee Hook Hedges, 75, of Bryson City passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Willard Dewey and Emily Viola Tydings Hook. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Violet Boice, and Doris Dixion.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell E. Hedges; children, Darrell Lee Hedges of FL, Joan Marie Hansen and husband Alan of FL, Samuel C. Hedges and wife Michelle of Colorado; grandchildren, Patrica Bosse of Arkansas, Kansandra Olson and husband Eric of Washington, Emily Rider and husband Daniel of Arkansas, Ashley Hansen, Julie Hansen, Cody Hedges, Samantha Hedges; great grandson, Dakota Rider; and sisters, Annie May DeFrank of Maryland, Margaret Yiannikis of Colorado, and Joy Barnes of Nebraska.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Bryson City Presbyterian Church. Father Mike Jones will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 595, Cherokee, NC 28719 or to Hope Cancer Center of Asheville, P.O. Box 16948, Asheville, NC 28816.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
NOTE:
The Obituary in the Smoky Mountain Times states that Memorial services were held Saturday, January 29 at Bryson City Presbyterian Church.
This should read as Saturday, February 5.
