Joanne Ball Sutton, 71, of the Balltown Community, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 4th, 2011 in a Swain County Hospital. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Al and Nota Mae Dowell Ball and wife of the late Gene Sutton. Joanne was a retired sewing machine operator with 40 years of service. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Ball.
She is survived by her special friend, Marvin Simonds; a son, Bruce Sutton and wife Debbie of Bryson City; four grandchildren, Brandon Sutton and wife Amanda, Daniel Sutton, Brandi Sutton, and Dana Sutton all of Bryson City; two great granddaughters, Sarabeth, and Abbygail; one sister Nannie Sue Blanton and husband Ronnie of Bryson City; two brothers, Charles Ray Ball and wife Betty, and J.C. Ball and wife Sheena both of Bryson City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Ray Ball will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home.
