Obituary of Roy W. Jones

Sylva/Bryson City Dateline Roy W. Jones, 66, of Sylva passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Ray and Ella Mae Wiggins Jones. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Jr., Harold, and Larry Jones. He is survived by his wife, Anne Jones; daughter, Regina Clyburn of the residence; two grandchildren, D.J. and Aniyah; three sisters, Linda McShane of Nashville, TN, Kathy Mathis of Sylva, June Sisti of Hickory; two brothers, Bragg Jones of Hoquiam, Wash., Dewey Jones of Bryson City; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday , March 26, in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Sisti will officiate with burial in the Holly Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 25, at Crisp Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 min. prior to the service.
