Mr. Herbert Charles Gage, 90, passed away April 22, 2011 in Bryson City, NC. He was born March 29, 1921 in New York. He was a veteran of Foreign Wars serving in the United States Army during WWII in Europe receiving the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Fearllee Rickman Gage; three daughters, Elizabeth Snow of Astonia, CT, Lee Quigley of Thomaston, GA, Debbie Brooks of Sylva, NC; a son, Jimmy Navin of Robbinsville, NC; three step children, Beth Winchester of Bryson City, NC, Tommy Lee Rickman of Cherokee, NC, and Charles Rickman of Atlanta, GA; 23 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Ray Ball will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital:
