Obituary of Hazel Wiggins Jenkins

Hazel Wiggins Jenkins, 75, of the Lands Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 20, 2011 in a Jackson County Hospital. A lifelong resident of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Rosie Walls Wiggins and wife of the late Ernest Jenkins. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Glen, Lawrence, and Howard Wiggins. She is survived by eight children, Jr. Jenkins and wife Frieda of Cherokee, Cathy Cook and husband Jiles of Bryson City, Jenny Hyatt and husband Jake of Bryson City, Bobby Jenkins of Bryson City, Sarah Franks and husband Monroe of Bryson City, Shirley Fielding and husband Brock of Bryson City, Billy Jenkins of Bryson City, Randy Jenkins and wife Allene of Bryson City; 15 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; three brothers, Jack Wiggins of Manchester, GA, Floyd and Bill Wiggins, both of Bryson City; and two sisters, Lucille Starling of Manchester, GA, and Alice Gass of Whittier. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Roger Roland and David Hoyle will officiate with burial in Deep Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
