James Oliver Butler, 66, of Old #4 Road, passed away Sunday, June 12th, 2011 at his residence. A native of South Carolina, he had lived in Swain County for the past 7 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Mary Fowler Butler, one brother, Earl Bradley Butler, and one sister, Virginia Sansoucy.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, May Bell Mishoe Butler, two daughters, Sharon Butler of Dallas, TX, and Patsy Lennon of Bryson City, one son, James O. Butler, Jr and wife Sally Inez Butler of Bryson City, 5 grandchildren, Jason Lennon, Jessica Strickland, Hailey and Kailey Strickland, and James Oliver Butler III, one great grandchild, Justin Tanner Brennan, Jr., two sisters, Margaret and Mary, and 6 brothers, John, Billy, Raleigh, Ronnie, Chester, and Jerry Lee.
