Cherokee Dateline Wayne Conner Wiggins, 64, of the Big Y Community passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at his residence. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Nathaniel and Elsie Conner Wiggins, and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kordell and Odell Wiggins. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda Maney Wiggins; two sons, Richard Wiggins and wife D.J. of Cherokee, Dwayne Wiggins and wife Quiana of Cherokee; one daughter, Vickie McCoy and husband Dave of Whittier; six grandchildren, Rachel Wiggins, Kyndra, Kyleigh, Jake, Tanner, Kamia, and Luke Wiggins; one sister, Soyrieta Wiggins McMahan of Sylva; one brother, Nathaniel Wiggins, Jr. of Germany; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Allen (Rabbit) Carver and Beatrice Carver. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Old Antioch Baptist Church. Revs. Denny Crowe and James (Bo) Parris will officiate with burial in the family cemetery. The body will be taken back to the church at 5:00 p.m. Monday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of service.
