My condolences to John's family. I was friends with John in high school and remember him fondly from our days together in band and driving to Knoxville to see the Clash. We lost touch after graduation, but I always hoped we'd eventually reconnect. John was one of the good ones. May his family draw some comfort knowing that the kindness and friendship he showed others -- even decades ago -- hasn't ever been forgotten.

My heart aches for your loss. What wonderful memories you will have of your Son, brother, husband, father and uncle as well as a dear friend to so many. I remember his smile and laugh like it was yesterday, and such a huge heart. Susan, we shared so many wonderful memories together and spending time at your home as teenagers, John was always a part of those times. Love to each of you and God Bless.

i am so saddened by John's passing. He was the sweetest, kindest, most loving kid. I will pray for all of you in the coming days that the Lord will comfort and sustain you. Every time I saw him he always asked how I was doing. He was so sincere in his concern. I know what it's like to lose a brother too soon and I have watched my folks go through their loss. Please know if there's anything I can do don't hesitate to call. Lean on each other and into your faith. It's really all we have and all we need.
