Obituary of Aleene Bowers Cochran
Aleene Bowers Cochran, 82, of the Alarka Community went home on January 8, 2012. She was born October 16, 1929. She was the daughter of the late George and Eva Cochran Bowers and wife of the late Furman Dewey Cochran. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Roby, Buford, and Doug Bowers.
She is survived by three sons, Bruce and Jean Cochran, Dewey and Julie Cochran of Bryson City, Kent and Lynn Cochran of Whittier; three daughters, Betty and Larry Woodard, Karen and Ted Craig, Angie and Gene Richmond of Bryson City; 10 grandchildren, Dewayne and Nancy Woodard, Chad and Jackie Woodard, Vicki Davis, Phillip Cochran, Cabbott and Alison Cochran, Travis and Beth Richmond, Brian and Kelli Richmond, Amy Smith, Scott and Jamie Craig, David and Jenifer Craig; 27 great grandchildren; four sisters, Claudette and husband Nuncy Huffman of Hildebrand, NC, Norm McGaha, Carlyon Crain, Annette and husband Cotton Loftis of Bryson City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Jeff Waldroup and Max Cochran will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
