Horace Jackson Cunningham, 87, of Robbinson Gap Road went home Monday, April 6, 2015 at his residence. A native of Swain County he was the son of the late Andrew and Rebecckey Noland Parton (Node) Cunningham and husband of the late Dixie Kitchens Cunningham. He was a member of Jackson Line Baptist Church. He was a great father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, two grandchildren Jeff and Jennifer Pendergrass; and one great grandchild Bryce Aaron Crisp. He is survived by four children Edna Mae Pendergrass of Andrews, Horace Cunningham Jr. of Bryson City, Joyce Cunningham Rice of Franklin, Lilly Crisp Cline of Bryson City; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Reverends Mike Cogdill and Tom Harris will officiate with burial in the Blankenship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Robbie Cunningham, Tony and Jacky Rice, Riley Randall, Trent Crisp, and Carl Jenkins.
