I'm just now learning of Pat's passing! I'm going to be in the Ashville, NC area in June and had thought I might look him up; searching for his name on Google gave me this obituary. So sad - he was such a nice guy. I served with him in the early '70's at Fleet Weather Center, Norfolk, and over our similar careers as weather LDOs, we bumped into each other a couple times. He will surely be missed! RIP Pat....

My family and I have had the pleasure of Pats friendship for the past two years and to know him and Tank was to love them. Pat had a great sense of humor and was an entertaining and intelligent man. He taught me a lot. I enjoyed his conversations and most of all valued his advice and friendship. He will truly be missed and remain in our heart's.

Sherry and Patsy--Although it has been decades since I have seen any of you, I have fond memories of you and your parents, and I recall Pat as a joy filled youngster with a real zest for life. As someone who devoted a career to his country Pat stands as a patriot and a man whose memory should be cherished.
You are in my thoughts.

I'm very sorry to read about this. My Dad (John Roger Welch) was very good friends with Hazel, Bud and the whole family. We would always visit them when we came to NC for vacation. Lots of good memories with the Jacks family. My thoughts are with the family, God Bless!
