Obituary of Marilyn Kirton Cook

Marney Cook, 76, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at her residence. A native of Orlando, FL, she was the daughter of the late James and Ada Paddock Harrell. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Sam Cook; five children, Stuart Kirton of Myrtle Beach, SC, Randy Kirton of Monroe, NC, Mark Cook of Bryson City, Kevin Cook of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Keith Cook of Charlotte, NC; 10 grandchildren; a few great grandchildren; and one brother, Bob Harrell of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of which she was a member. Rev. David Watkins will officiate with burial in the Lauada Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Crisp Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
