CHEROKEE………………………DATELINE
PATRICIA BLANKENSHIP DENNIS, 65, of the Yellowhill Community, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in Black Mountain. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Georgia Blankenship. She retired from Indian Health Service.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son- Gavin Dennis, a Grandson Derick Taylor and a granddaughter Zoey Taylor.
She is survived by 3 Children- Marty Taylor and his wife Lynn
Pepper Taylor and his wife Janet
Georgenna Arch and her husband Horace all of Cherokee
1 Sister- Shirley Taylor and her husband Goliath
3 Brothers- Bob Blankenship and his wife Laura
Ray Blankenship and his wife Lola
Ken Blankenship and his wife Barbara all of Cherokee
8 grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Cherokee Babptist Church, of which she was a member. The Revs Percy Cunningham and Jim Mills will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Crisp Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N . Michigan Ave, 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601
