Obituary of Larry Edward Barker

Larry Edward "Loc Doc" Barker
Larry Edward Barker, 61, of the Galbraith Creek Community died on September 2nd, 2015. He was the son of the late Edward and Mary Alice Barker of Alarka. He was also brother and best friend to Roger Barker.
A Swain County School employee for 27 years, he had been a small business owner since retirement.
Survived by Janice Dawn Wood Barker and their three children- Amy Barker Cochran (husband Trevor), Nathan Barker (wife Lottie), and Sonya Barker McNabb (husband Couney). Larry had 9 grandchildren- Destiny, Sam, Brody, Isabel, Addison, Chance, Summer, Savannah, and McKenzie.
Larry was an active member of the Whittier Church of God for 40 years and also participated in many disaster relief ministry projects throughout the southeast.
Services were held Saturday, Sept. 5th at the Whittier Church of God and provided by Crisp Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Whittier Church of God Benevolence Fund.
