Obituary of William Douglas Burrell
Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William Douglas Burrell, better known as 'Doug', 59, of Bryson City, NC, passed away in the evening of November 2, 2015. He had been staying at Mountain View Manor under the short term rehabilitation care at the time of his passing.
Doug was born on June 8, 1956, to Clinton and Frances Burrell, and raised in Graham County, NC. He was a long time employee of Buncombe Construction, of Asheville, NC, where he worked alongside his father Clinton, for many years. He loved being outdoors even though his health prevented him from doing so as much as he wanted. He enjoyed spending time with his family and nothing was better than seeing his grand babies.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clinton Burrell.
He will leave behind his three children: Jessica Burrell and fiancé Cody Maney, of Cherokee, NC; Brian Burrell of Franklin, NC; Michael Burrell, also of Franklin, NC. All of his beloved grandchildren: Gabriel Crowe, Trevyn Burrell, Blake Burrell, Chanlyr Burrell, Emily Maney, Myalynne Burrell, Liyana Burrell and Liam Maney. His mother, Frances Burrell, of Robbinsville; One brother, Jeffrey Burrell, of Bryson City; One sister, Deborah Burrell, of Robbinsville; Sister-in-law Debbie Burrell, of Sylva; Nephews Rocky Burrell of Bryson City, Drew Burrell of Sylva, Kenny Pullium of Robbinsville, and Bradley Pullium of Robbinsville; Neices Felicia Burrell, of Robbinsville, and April Bird of Cherokee. He will also leave behind a close friend he always thought of as a brother to him, John Thomas (John-John), of Robbinsville, NC, and many great nieces and nephews as well.
He was loved by and will be greatly missed by many and we will cherish the moments and memories we had with him forever, until we meet again.
