Obituary of Tim Ernest Smith

Tim Smith, 60, of the East Alarka community went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 28, 2016. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Nath and Hazel Thomas Smith.
Tim was proud to be the original Tenor singer for the Smoky Mountain Boys. He sang for the Smoky Mountain Boys for over 20 years.
He is survived by one son, Adam Smith and wife Christina of Bryson City; one daughter, Becky Woodard and husband Heath of Andrews; one step-daughter, Mary Sherrill and husband Jordan of Bryson City; one grandson, Aiden Smith; four granddaughters, Breana, Brooklyn, Bailee and Emery; step-grandchildren, Bently and Jerry Sherrill; two brothers, Charles Smith and wife Janie, William (Sonny) Smith both of Bryson City; two sisters, Linda Jenkins and husband Carl, and Wanda Roland both of Bryson City; and a special nephew, James Roland of Whittier, who was like a son to Tim.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday at East Alarka Baptist Church. Revs. Jeff Waldroup and Roger Roland will officiate with burial in the East Alarka Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 pm Wednesday at the church.
The family wishes that anyone wanting to bring food please bring it to the East Alarka Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
