Obituary of Joseph Matt Woodard

Joseph M. (Joe) Woodard, 63, of the Kirklands Creek Community went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 1, 2010 at his home. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late George and Arzlia Brooks Woodard. He was a self Employed Brick, Block and Rock Mason.
He is survived by his wife Sally Wiggins Woodard, two children, Timothy Joseph Woodard, and Elizabeth Dortheva Fouts both of Bryson City, 9 Grandchildren, Alicia Ann Fouts, Nathaniel Edward Rogers (Little Ed), Myron Paris, Misty Dawn Woodard, Timmy Woodard, Kelsey Woodard, Dylan Woodard, Wyatt Woodard, and Hailey Woodard. One great grandchild, Isaiah Lackey, four sisters, Maxine Winchester and husband Cline of Bryson City, Betty Cranford and husband Gene of Thomasville, NC, Nora Lee Jones and husband Jimmy of Shelbyville, TN, and Carolyn Fisher and husband Frank of Shelbyville, TN. Three Brothers, Edison Woodard of Bryson City, Wade Woodard and wife Helen of Bryson City, and Wayne Woodard and wife Rosemary of Stanley, NC. One sister-in-law, Kathy Wiggins of Bryson City, and two brother-in-laws, Junior Wiggins and wife Libby of Bryson City, and Raymond Wiggins and wife Barnell of Covington, GA.
Funeral Services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Max Cochran, and Jimmie Lambert will officiate with burial in the Mason Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home.
