Obituary of Etta Mae Waldroup

Etta Mae Mashburn Waldroup, was born May 15th, 1926 to the late Berry and Cardelia Grant Mashburn, went home to be with the Lord on Friday August 26, 2016. She was married to Harold Waldroup on March 28, 1943. Harold was a Baptist Minister and pastored 7 churches in Swain, Jackson, and Macon Counties. Etta Mae was faithful to support him through the 46 years they were married. Harold died in the pulpit at Holly Springs Baptist Church on October 22, 1989. Later in life Etta Mae met Floyd Martin and they were married for five years. Floyd died October 14th, 2014.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Etta Mae was also preceded in death by one sister Cleo Taylor; three brothers, Doyle Mashburn, Coy Mashburn and Gene Mashburn and one daughter Kathy Waldroup.
She is survived by four daughters, Joyce Gibson and husband Benny of Bryson City, Barbara Davis and husband Wayne of Bessemer, AL, Kay McKinney and husband Ronnie of High Point, NC and Marcia Waldroup of Bryson City; four sons, Colin Waldroup and wife Patsy of Trinity, NC, Nathan Waldroup and wife Gladys of Bryson City, Mike Waldroup and wife Sin-ja of Clarksville, TN, and Keith Waldroup and wife Darlene of Bryson City; 25 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren, and 25 great great grandchildren; one sister Clovalee Mashburn of High Point, NC; one brother Amos Mashburn and wife Margaret of High Point, NC, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Crisp Funeral Home Chapel. Revs. James (Bo) Brown and Onley Williams will officiate with burial in Bethel Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Church Friends.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to Skyland Care Center for the outstanding care that Etta Mae received.
